Project Staff:

Since 2011, the PittVax team has been one of the 5 sites for the US Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness Network which has produced influenza vaccine effectiveness estimates for the CDC and contributed to national influenza vaccination policy and recommendations. During the course of this project, the Network and the PittVax team have published widely. These papers have covered areas such as influenza vaccine effectiveness, the effect of antiviral treatments on influenza-associated complications, viral etiology of acute respiratory illness, timing of influenza vaccination related to economic burden, seroprotective titers related to historical strains in older adults, and detection of influenza virus using two PCR methods. Ancillary studies related to this project include influenza vaccine effectiveness among inpatients.  (See publications tab.)
