Richard Zimmerman

Dr. Zimmerman is Professor with tenure, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology with joint appointments in the University of PittsburghClinical and Translational Science Institute,  and University of Pittsburgh, Graduate School of Public Health, Department of Behavioral and Community Health Sciences. He has served on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices as a voting member and as chair of the influenza and adult vaccination working groups. 

His research interests focus on vaccine effectiveness and vaccine policy. He is the author of  more than 300 publications on immunizations and vaccine-preventable diseases.

Establishing decision rules for COVID-19 outpatients 

Test-negative case-control studies of influenza vaccine effectiveness

Randomized cluster trials of measures to increase vaccination rates; 

Vaccine modeling using decision analytic and agent-based techniques

Public health bioethics.
